Overview |
This
project is the outcome of the previous project, "Women's Studies
in Asia: Knowledge Exchange, Theory and Practice" and the second
step in developing Women's Studies in Asia by achieving course development
and institutionalizing Women's Studies at higher educational institutions
in Asia ¡ª in the eight countries in paricular. The first phase of
this project was conducted for the purpose of "faculty and course
development". For doing this, writing eight Women's Studies texts
in English wing phases; opening the Asian Women's Studies website
(http://www.wsaia.net); and conducting international faculty workshop
for course development were implemented. The eight Women's Studies
texts in English will be published by Ewha Womans University Press
from the 2nd half of 2004. |

Overview |
The purpose of this
project has been to compare and analyze the different models of Women's
Studies curricula of the eight Asian countries: China, India, Indonesia,
Japan, Korea, Philippines, Taiwan ad Thailand and to develop Women's
Studies curriculum relevant to the local context of these countries.
This project was jointly organized by the ACWS and the Korean Women's
Institute(KWI) and conducted in the following phases.
Phase 1 (October 1997¢¦September 1998):
"Understanding
Each Other & Making Connections"

2 (October 1998¢¦September 1999): "Building/Reformulating
Women's Studies Curriculum in the Local Context" -
Eight country workshops Phase
3 (October 1999¢¦September 2000): "Creating
Asian Women's Studies" -
