Asian Center for Women's Studies (ACWS) intends to cultivate young regional feminist scholars through various training programs.
Research Tour Program for Young Women's Studies Scholars
This project was organized to train junior Women's Studies practitioners interested in women's situation in Asian countries from July 1999-March 2000. The aim was to give an opportunity to junior researchers to participate in one of the country-level workshops on "Building Women's Studies Curriculum" and to conduct short-term field research.
International Workshop: "Young Feminist Scholars in Asia 2000"
ACWS held a "Young Feminist Scholars in 2000" workshop (17th October, 2000) to give an opportunity to young feminist scholars from different part of Asia to exchange ideas regarding their research interests and experiences. This workshop has also enabled the participants to build an intra-regional network and community.
International Workshop: "Understanding Sexualities in Asia"
This international workshop, entitled "Understanding Sexualities in Asia," was hosted by ACWS for young women scholars (25th February-1st March, 2002), sponsored by Japan Foundation Asia. Through this workshop, young feminist scholars had an opportunity to present their research findings about sexuality and were also helped to bridge the gap between junior and senior Women's Studies scholars in the region. The presentations were entitled as follows:
